Gaming blockchain teams up with AWS to boost Web3 gaming tools

Under the arrangement, the layer-1 blockchain WAX will integrate with Amazon Managed Blockchain

26 Mar 2024

Gaming-focused layer-1 blockchain platform Worldwide Asset Exchange (WAX) has recently inked a pivotal partnership with Amazon Web Services, signaling a significant advancement in Web3 gaming tools.

Under this collaboration, WAX integrates seamlessly with Amazon Managed Blockchain, AWS's fully managed service, streamlining the incorporation of blockchain functionalities into gaming applications. This move marks a notable stride forward in the realm of decentralized applications (dApps).

With WAX's focus on gaming and non-fungible tokens (NFTs), the partnership with AWS aims to democratize access to blockchain infrastructure. Developers now enjoy effortless deployment on both WAX mainnet and testnets through the AWS console, enhancing the development process for Web3 games.

Lukas Sliwka, WAX's Chief Technology Officer, underlined the partnership's importance in driving the widespread adoption of Web3 technologies. He emphasized its capacity to empower developers, regardless of their background in either blockchain-native or traditional Web2 frameworks, to seamlessly integrate decentralized features.

Dimitri Nikolaros from BountyBlok, a top 21 block producer on WAX, echoed Sliwka's sentiments, stressing the synergy between blockchain and traditional Web2 frameworks in optimizing next-generation applications.

WAX's suite of custom tools and incentive mechanisms further bolsters the usability of blockchain technology across diverse sectors. With over 140 Web3 games leveraging WAX as their foundation and millions of transactions occurring monthly, the platform solidifies its position as a frontrunner in the Web3 ecosystem.

This collaboration builds upon WAX's existing relationship with Amazon, exemplified by the inclusion of WAX-based trading card game Brawlers in the Amazon Prime Gaming service. Such partnerships underscore WAX's commitment to driving innovation within the gaming industry and beyond, propelling the widespread adoption of Web3 applications.
