Brazil's AmFi Finance and Singapore's Helix — incubated by fintech pioneer Helicap — have announced a strategic partnership to connect Latin American private credit with Asian institutional capital through tokenised receivables, in what the companies describe as the first tokenised private credit initiative linking Latin America and Asia.
AmFi, supervised by Brazil's securities regulator CVM, has structured more than $300 million in tokenised assets since its founding — a company-reported figure — and claims cost reductions of up to 38% in issuance and distribution versus traditional structures. The partnership connects AmFi's origination and tokenisation capabilities in Brazil with Helix's institutional investor network across Asia, with Onigiri Capital — the corporate venture arm of Japan's Credit Saison — acting as facilitator and co-author of the underlying research framework.
The structural context is significant. Brazil carries some of the world's highest real interest rates, making its private credit market attractive to international yield-seeking capital. But access has historically been difficult for foreign investors due to documentation complexity, legal overhead, and settlement friction. By converting receivables and structured loans into blockchain-based tokens, AmFi and Helix aim to create compliant cross-border pathways that make Brazilian private credit accessible to Asian institutional allocators.
The partnership is supported by Project Aurora, a landmark report on Brazil's asset tokenisation opportunity co-authored by AmFi, Credit Saison Brazil, Onigiri Capital, Coruja Capital, and law firm Pinheiro Neto Advogados. The report frames Brazil's $2 trillion private credit market as one of the world's most advanced regulatory environments for tokenisation, with the CVM having embraced blockchain-based structures as a catalyst for financial inclusion and efficiency.
Paulo David, CEO of AmFi Finance, said the collaboration creates institutional-grade access to one of the world's highest real-yield markets, safely, transparently, and on-chain. Jitendra Singh Jaitawat, CEO of Helix, described the initiative as creating a new chapter in global private credit by expanding access and transparency across emerging markets.
