ARK Invest has tokenized interests in its ARK Venture Fund (ARKVX) through Securitize, moving the roughly $1.3 billion actively managed fund onto Ethereum in what the firm says is the first ARK product brought onto blockchain infrastructure.

According to The Block, the tokenized fund is now available to eligible investors through Securitize's infrastructure, allowing them to hold blockchain-based interests in the interval fund without altering its underlying investment strategy or holdings.

The fund carries exposure to a mix of public and private technology companies, including OpenAI, Anthropic, Stripe, and Databricks. "Tokenizing the ARK Venture Fund puts our conviction in the evolution, if not revolution, of capital markets into practice," ARK founder Cathie Wood said.

The launch builds on ARK's existing relationship with Securitize, which began with a strategic investment in the tokenization platform in October 2025. It adds ARK to a growing list of asset managers — including BlackRock and Franklin Templeton — that have moved existing fund structures onto public blockchains rather than launching blockchain-native products from scratch, a pattern likely to accelerate as more legacy asset managers weigh tokenization as a distribution channel rather than a product category unto itself.

The announcement did not disclose how much of the fund's assets have moved into tokenized form, or what criteria define an "eligible investor." That distinction matters: the fund's overall net asset value is separate from the tokenized-interest balance now held on-chain, and the two figures should not be conflated as adoption of tokenized fund structures widens.

The move lands amid a broader push to bring existing capital-markets infrastructure on-chain. Separately on September 24, Ondo Finance launched three on-chain portfolio tokens based on model portfolios developed by BlackRock, and IBM connected its Digital Asset Haven platform to Swift's permissioned ledger network for bank-issued tokenized-deposit workflows — a sign that asset managers and infrastructure providers are converging on tokenization this fall.
