Binance has made a $100 million strategic equity investment in Circle Internet Group, the issuer of the USDC stablecoin, the companies announced September 22. Circle said Binance purchased 1,237,011 shares of Circle Class A common stock as part of the transaction.
Alongside the investment, Circle and Binance renewed and expanded their existing commercial partnership for another five years. The companies said the expanded agreement is focused on growing USDC's reach, promotion, and platform integration, with particular emphasis on emerging markets.
The investment deepens ties between the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume and the issuer of the second-largest dollar-backed stablecoin by market capitalization. Binance has been a long-standing distribution partner for USDC, and the renewed agreement extends that relationship through the back half of the decade.
Circle did not disclose a valuation implied by the transaction, and terms beyond the $100 million investment and share count were not specified in the companies' announcement.
The deal is Circle's latest move to deepen relationships with major exchanges following its 2025 initial public offering, as competition among dollar-stablecoin issuers for exchange distribution and emerging-market reach continues to intensify.
