Bybit has launched IPO Express, a platform allowing retail investors worldwide to subscribe to tokenised representations of IPO shares at the offering price — with SpaceX as the inaugural offering — becoming one of the first centralised crypto exchanges globally to offer primary market IPO access through blockchain infrastructure.

Powered by xStocks, operated by Payward Services, the platform tokenises IPO shares backed 1:1 by real equity held in regulated broker-dealer custody. On the public listing day, allocations are finalised and shares are tokenised, giving subscribers genuine economic exposure to the underlying equity rather than synthetic instruments. Eligible Bybit users could subscribe to SpaceX shares during a June 7-11 registration and subscription window, with tokens distributed June 11-12 and secondary trading opening on Bybit Spot from June 12, 2026.

The deployment addresses a structural gap in retail capital market access. Participation in high-profile IPOs has historically been limited by geography, brokerage relationships, and institutional demand dynamics — retail investors in many regions typically gain access only after public listing, when early allocations have already been made. Bybit IPO Express removes those geographic and brokerage barriers for eligible users through regulated blockchain infrastructure.

Emily Bao, Head of Spot at Bybit, said the platform allows customers around the world to invest directly in US-listed IPOs alongside their crypto assets on equal footing with institutional investors — describing it as what building a "New Financial Platform" means in practice.
