Komainu, the Jersey-based digital asset custodian, has completed transfers of a digital asset portfolio into and out of its custody framework for First Abu Dhabi Bank, marking the operational start of its work with the bank's FAB Global Markets unit.
According to a Nov. 3 release, the transfers settled instantly, a company-reported claim with no latency figure. The release did not disclose the amounts, the assets, the blockchain used or the portfolio size. Komainu is regulated by the Jersey Financial Services Commission and, in the Middle East, by Dubai's Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority.
The framework is part of the bank's wider digital assets program, which includes tokenized deposits, and could later support lending against assets held in custody, the release said. No such loan has been disclosed.
