Fission, a New York startup that buys tokenized fund shares so investors can sell without waiting for a redemption window, has raised $10 million in a Series A led by Pantera Capital. Circle Ventures, Borderless Capital and Ari Rubenstein also invested, according to Fortune. The round closed in September and was announced on October 15.
Fission acts as the buyer: investors connect a digital wallet, submit a sale, and the company handles the legal and trading mechanics, with settlement in 90 seconds or less, CEO Jonathan Shaffer told Fortune. Customers are mainly hedge funds, crypto treasuries and stablecoin issuers holding tokenized private-credit or equity positions.
Founded in 2024, Fission has eight employees and previously raised a $1.6 million pre-seed round led by SALT Fund and Kraynos Capital. Its valuation and use of proceeds were not disclosed.
