Ripple has launched RLUSD, a USD-denominated stablecoin designed for enterprise and institutional payment use cases, making it available on global exchanges and positioning it as regulated digital asset infrastructure for financial institutions.

The product is distinct from retail-focused stablecoins — Ripple has emphasised compliance architecture and institutional use cases including cross-border payments, liquidity management, and settlement. The launch follows a period of regulatory engagement and positions RLUSD alongside a growing field of enterprise-grade stablecoins from both crypto-native firms and traditional financial institutions.

The timing is significant — RLUSD launches into a market where Société Générale-FORGE's EURCV and other bank-issued stablecoins are establishing institutional credibility for the asset class, and where regulatory frameworks including MiCA in Europe are creating clearer compliance pathways.
