Switzerland-based Carpe Diem Pension has introduced an alternative pension system built on the Pulse blockchain, offering users a way to build retirement savings without traditional intermediaries.
Operating through the CDP token, the platform allows users to make monthly deposits that accumulate as locked collateral, generating a steady payout that cannot be withdrawn early. The annual payout rate currently stands at 9%, above the prevailing inflation rate, with new CDP tokens generated to sustain the mechanism.
Users can determine their own retirement age and adjust monthly contributions accordingly. The system also has a multi-generational dimension — pension income can be passed on by transferring the blockchain account to family members.
CDP tokens can additionally function as a hybrid investment, with market trading influencing the value of the underlying collateral.
